Design Brief 2 - Letter C

Prompt
The prompt for today is Sci-Fi
Within the sci-fi theme I found it would be easier to convey the sci-fi by playing with the anatomy of the letterform as well as removing some sections of the letter.
Ideas
Above are my initial sketches for the letter c on the iPad. When designing this letter I found myself experimenting more and I think this is shown in my initial sketches. The one which I found was most successful with fitting with the sci-fi theme was a thicker letterform with sections cut out of it.
Development
At the top of the screen is a sketch from the other screenshot, which was the more successful and the one I will use to further develop the letter. I experimented with removing different sections which I found made the letter feel more sci-fi. During this stage, I found that adding 1 single cut out at the top of the inside of the c worked the best to covey the sci-fi them as well as cutting out a section from the top.
After identifying which one was the most successful during the development stage I then brought it into illustrator again to clean up the letterform. As I found it to be a lot easier to do this on illustrator rather than on the iPad when doing the letter a.
